Facts about Dwight
Dwight is a village in Butler County, Nebraska, United States. Dwight was started in 1887 when the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad was extended to that point. The fact that a large share of the early settlers were natives of Dwight, Illinois caused the name to be selected.
As of the census of 2010, there were 204 people, 94 households, and 57 families residing in the village. The population density was 816.0 inhabitants per square mile (315.1/km2). There were 108 housing units at an average density of 432.0 per square mile (166.8/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 100.0% White.
There were 94 households of which 27.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.1% were married couples living together, 6.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 39.4% were non-families. 33.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
The median age in the village was 46.4 years. 23.5% of residents were under the age of 18; 2.4% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21.1% were from 25 to 44; 34.3% were from 45 to 64; and 18.6% were 65 years of age or older.
